Surf foil beginner fails at the Gold Coast, Australia

Some friends where ok with me tracking their foiling action this fine winter day at Miami, Gold Coast, Australia. Light NE swells at mid tide were breaking over an outer bank.
The pro's were looking great out that back (see related videos for the pro action).
Riders have varying experience of 6 months down to 1 week (female) shows that surf foiling is HARD as these guys get very little air time despite near perfect beginner conditions.
They are using what is locally know as the perfect gear for learning from Konrad
https://www.konradboarding.com/products
Konrad 5' 2" and 5' Flyr prone foil boards
Konrad SS1600 (surf) foil - has a large sweet spot and low stall speed (makes it ideal for beginners)
Konrad Alloy mast and fuselage
Konrad SS320 stabiliser

How long does it take to learning prone foil surfing?
Unless you are a freak (1%), know that foil surfing takes a lot commitment with around
20 hours - stable flight of 2 seconds or more
80 hours - to foil for 100m or more
200 hours - any success of pumping
1 year - linking up and/or pumping back out behind the break
