Prone Foil Surfing Beginners Perspective 6 - Leg ropes and leashes
Sat 06 Nov 2021Author: John Nayler
It might not seem like a big deal but choice or leg rope is important, particularly as a beginner. the main problem is that the leg rope is always trying to get around your foil and mast, so keeping the leg rope leash short on your prone foil surfboard is important in my mind.
In this video, I talk about the choice of leg rope, length of leash, spring versus fixed length and even colour.
I also have a tip to hook your leash leg rope in the webbing of thumb and first finger to ensure that it is not possible for it to wrap around foil or mast.
After 30 hours of learning to prone foil surfing I have not yet adjusted for more lift - which gives stability and consistency while you are in beginner mode.
Happy foiling!
